2013 "People First" Conference held recently at the Ascot Hotel in Invercargill was a huge success.

Hello fellow Wiogians.

The 2013 WIOG conference in Invercargill has just ended and it was a great conference. At the AGM the current committee was re-elected by members for a further two year stint. One major change this year is that Martyn Simpson stood down as chairperson of WIOG, Martyn stressed however that he wished to remain as part of the committee and is as committed and enthusiastic as ever.

As your new chairperson, I feel honoured and privileged to have been nominated and selected by our committee members.

My first official duty however, is to take this opportunity to express our depth of gratitude to Marty for the amazing job he has done for the past five years. He has worked tirelessly, often sacrificing huge amounts of family time, in an effort to build WIOG into the respected and professional organisation that it is. Martyn, your dedication and enthusiasm is an inspiration to your colleges and friends.

Martyns service to WIOG was recognised at conference, where he was awarded the highly revered Twisted Tap IDIOTS award. Well done.

Regards

Mike Monaghan
